It sounded easy. Take the Quest, meet a certain person and lead him to the Fountain of Healing. Nothing more, nothing less and while Nyx heared a couple of rumors of that man not being the nicest fellow, he still wanted to complete this task. That had two different reasons: He was used to finish anything his employer wanted not matter what and how long it would take! And the second one was that of course he would support anyone willing to bring forth chaos and agony.
Just imagening a different race invading the lands of others to feast on their resources was a wonderful thought. That act would create tension and thus probably worsen their relationship. And all of that while disguised as a small simple mission? Sign him in!
Their first meeting was in front of the adventurer's guild, a good starting point as basically everyone knew where it was. The boy waited for the man, who seemed to be late. He did not question it, sometimes it happened and as long as he would get his reward at the end of the day, he could care less. A few minutes later the Human arrived and greeted his employee who was hopefully guiding him to the promised spot.
So far Nyx did not notice anything out of the ordinary, maybe because they both belonged to the same species? "Try to be on point the next time, aight? We dont have all day to waste on this stupid escort thing. Now, let's get moving old man!" Nier said, which surprised the stranger who was looking shocked at the veiled face. "WHAT? Never seen a talking face on a veil? Oh... yeah.. probably not, but... MOVE!" With that all the participants started to move.
Their destination was the Myral Mistwood. He was there once and found the fountain by pure chance while he was gathering information on the area. He had it memorized, everything, down to the smallest detail there was. It would not take long but it seemed that the long walk was a bit bored for a couple of them.
The man started to talk. About his life, his journey and his goals. All things Nyx was not interested in, which is why he simply did not listen and focused more on the way. He would love to teach that man a few lessons after they were done with all the business stuff but he would have to hold back. As long as there was no contract to eliminate or harm him, he would just ignore him. That what he has always done and what he would do in the future as well.
Nier on the other hand was in full blabbering mode, talking with his employer and argueing with him. "Hey, hey Nyx...HEY! You heared? HAHAH! This guy said that there was another one who wanted to show him the way but... that person just dumbed him into the water and left him! HAHAHA Nier burst into a huge laughter, scaring every small animal in their surrounding. It seemed that there were people who did not want for the human to discover his desired location.
But it would only be a mere minutes until they all arrived at the fountain and then he would hopefully get his reward and be done with this guy. It was too tiresome to accompany this individual, especially with Nier. Nyx wiped away a couple of branches and revealed the spot. The fountain of Healing. A magical sight to behold, as the water was as clear as crystals. All kinds of creatures were there to either drink from it or just bath in it's glory. The boy did not understand the appeal, for him it seemed like some run-down place.
The nineteen year old turned towards the man and looked him straight in the eyes. This was the place and with this he had met the conditions to complete this quest. Now the only thing left for the contract to end in a sucessful manner was to get paid. He reached out to the stranger. "Payment." One could only hear a slight chuckle, coming from the veil.
