50 COCONUTS! ARE THEY INSANE?
Normally 25 coconuts would be hard enough, but 50? Orpheus despaired over the amount of work he'd have to do. Assuming he'd be able to carry at least 10 coconuts, he'd have to do it for 5 rounds. Sadly he had already accepted the task, due to Rio's insistence. Earlier, Orpheus had denied vehemently to do this quest citing reasons such as: "Sounds too tiring, I don't want to, Why don't you ask that winged girl who came here... what was her name.... Lyndis Valcove . She can literally fly and get them." Rio looked away when Orpheus mentioned the last excuse. His badgering eventually made Orpheus give in.
The first thing Orpheus had to do was determine where to get the coconuts. He didn't want to become a criminal on accident. By asking around town, he discovered that there were 2 unowned coconut trees by the beach that weren't owned. It was a lucky break of sorts. At least now he didn't have to go into the forest. He also managed to successfully persuade a mermaid to let him borrow her cart, in exchange for helping her create twine.
Making his way towards the shore, Orpheus spotted the two, fully fruited, coconut trees. This will be harder than I thought. The trees were very tall and falling off them would definitely cause an injury. He gathered a bunch of nearby sticks, leaves, and grass and then created a makeshift safety cushion to soften his fall.
Although, Orpheus wasn't the most nimble or agile person, he still managed to climb up the coconut tree on his first attempt. This was all thanks to the grooves in the palm tree's trunk. After he plucked and dropped the coconuts, Orpheus descended to the floor. 27 Coconuts. He let out a big sigh and sadly gazed at the second tree.
The second tree was much harder to deal with. The trunk was less grooved and he'd have to depend more on his own grip and skill. Orpheus decided that ingenuity was needed this time. And by ingenuity he meant throwing loose rocks and sticks at the coconuts until they dropped. It slowly worked, taking hours and hours. After the 50th coconut fell, Orpheus felt a slight sign of relief. Only to become overcome by the next challenge: Carting the collective weight of 50 coconuts back to town.
Orpheus succeeded, though he collapsed at the entrance of the guild. By the time he woke up, Rio greeted him with an open coconut with a straw stuck into it as well as a hearty high-five.
