✴A Bountiful Harvest✴
~Lyndis Valcove - Q6~
Lyndis was mildly amused when she realized that this quest was now available to her. Afterall, she's been doing what's been described for the past week in order to survive!
With a slight hum, she wandered outside towards her usual hunting area and scavenged for food. The rockpools were beautiful and pristine, with clear water without any signs of impurities. Although the sunlight occasionally reflected blindingly into her eyes from the water's surface, she still found it easy to locate her prey and keep them within her old wooden bucket, half-filled with water to keep her food alive temporarily.
Since a high tide had just receded, Lyn's harvest was bountiful, quickly filling her bucket with a little but mature blue crab, fan-like kelp leaves, a couple of small unlucky fish, a giant shrimp and couple of the usual mussels.
Feeling pleased with herself, and that she could come back later to hunt for more, she was about to leave the area when a pain tore through her lower leg.
A fierce but small Snappy Crab had pinched her with its claws, having approached her whilst she was in a daze of peaceful thoughts.
Immediately, Lyndis was annoyed. As someone that was once a great huntress of her tribe, who few attempted to trifle with, she felt her dominance and control ridiculed by how she was hurt by such a tiny measly creature!
Using her free talon, she scraped, poked and crushed the snappy crab with all her might, not at all caring about the fact that she could've preserved and eaten the crab later for a meal. She was feeling too aggrieved to even think of that!
Minutes later, despite the single crab's minute attempts at fighting back, successfully causing more painful pinches to appear across her talons, the crab was smushed into a meaty pulp and left for the carrion eaters to consume as Lyndis returned to the village with a huff.
