Earning money was as necessary evil and even though Nyx used to have no problems in that area the situation has changed. He had basically nothing. The last few missions he completed got him a bit but certainly not enough to live a long and prosperous life. Not that he intended to be on Probos for long anyway but finding a away back to his original world could take some time.
It was the perfect opportunity when he heared rumors about the Abandoned Cove. There seemed to be a boat and a couple of man in need of help. The salary was decent as well, so there was no possible reason to not try and get this job done. He wondered why it was called the Abandoned Cove though. There were people in here so... maybe in the past this place was full of life, fertile and always busy unlike now?
Nyx watched the men unload some crates and whatnot and tried to search for the one who looked like the boss. Someone with a more charming aura so to speak. All the others were just some random canon fodder in his eyes, he needed someone with authority. Someone who ran the place. But unfortunetly, there was none available for now. So he walked up to one of the strangers and just pointed at a small chest.
Usually physical work that required brawn was not his thing, which is why he would focus mainly on the smaller pieces. The individual in front of him rubbed his chin and made a confused impression before he got what the boy wanted. He mentioned that their overseer had some other things to do for now and that if he wanted to take part in this mission, he just had to get some of the freight from the boat and put it down where the other crates were.
"Yo, sailor boy! You see, this little fella is not the strongest so he will focus on the smaller packages. Just a warning, don't you dare cut off some of his money because of that! He works, aight?! So quit yer yapping and let us start!" There it was, Nier in all his glory. As rough and talkative as ever. The tanned man, who appears to be part of the crew, looked a bit surprised but continued nonetheless.
He put a lot of emphasis on the aspect that they should never, under no circumstances, should look at the stuff that is stashed within the cargo. The loot was off-limits for everyone. Something Nyx understood perfectly well. He would complete this task without a problem, part of his pride as a professiona one could say.
With that done, he started to go on the boat and grabbed his first chest. It was lighter than he thought, something he appreciated since that would the transportation a lot easier. That continued for a couple of minutes. Going from one place to another, lifting the loot, putting it down, rinse and repeat. But suddenly something caught his attention. Something slimey. He closed the gap and took another look. He believed that those things were called Bloblings.
"Damn.... that thing is ugly! Urgh...better throw it away." Nier said while he made a funny face. Something was stuck in that thing, but what? A piece of paper! Should he take it out? He was not sure, it was not his business to begin with. But he was kind of curious, so he put his hand into the little octopus and pulled out the notice. SOS. "Well... aight, what now boy? You... gonna help? Urgh... we better start working again otherwise there is no money in it for us." A sound and valid point.
He shrugged with his shoulders and got on the ship again to finish what he started before. Maybe he'd give the paper scrap to the receptionist at the adventuerer's guild. Couldn't hurt even though there was no telling who wrote that nor in what kind of 'dangerious' situation that person was. With a yawn Nyx stretched himself, finally done with his work for the day. Hopefully it was worth it. It should be, he did not peek into one of the crates, nor did he mess up anything.
He was ready to recieve his reward and after that he would bring the sorry cry of help in the form of a piece of paper to the adventuerer's guild. Maybe that would result in another quest? Or maybe they would give him some kind of extra as thanks for his help. He did not know and honestly, was only in for a potential bonus. Saving some guy or girl was not his cup of tea, usually he was the one others needed rescuing from.

Summary: He took part in the quest and never took even a look into the crates. He found the note from Kaine though and brought that to the receptionist in the adventuerer's guild without saying a word.
