A Spiny Antidote
SPONSOR: Kelta Nanai (Myrtle Island>Local Forests)
DESCRIPTION:
My twin brother accidentally pricked himself on a Darkwater Weed whilst swimming in the ocean and got himself poisoned!
Although I know it won't kill him, it hurts to see him suffering so much, therefore please go and collect me some Indigo-Grass Mice spines! They are known for being anti-toxins and minor painkillers, and I can use them to make the antidote!
Be careful in the forest though, who knows what lurks in there without the Oracle's protection...

Nyx entered the Adventurer's Guild as silent as possible trying to not get too much attention like always. So far the interior has not changed a bit even though he was sure that all the missions that had been completed up till now should have contributed to this shack...at least a bit. Don't they get a fair share of the money for offering their space as some kind of advertisement? Maybe that money was going somewehere else? Who ran this building anyway? He has never seen anyone that looked like the boss anyway.
But as per usual, there was the counter with the Receptionist, waiting to provide help whenever needed. Would be fun to put up a couple of tasks himself, being on the other side of the table. But he had no idea what he could ask for so he left that to the ones who were a bit more...dependent on stuff like that. He wanted to look at the options that were available for him right now, he felt a bit stronger than before, although still nothing compared to what he used to be. A terrible feeling to be reverted to basically fledgling level.
Had to do stuff he did not want to do, just because there was no other means of getting what he wanted. Pretending to go along with the happy life everyone here was living, being all nice and friendly. It was sickening. While Nyx was mostly silence and thus able to avoid most of the disgusting conversations, it was a lot harder for Nier who was talking about whatever he wanted, disregarding any kind of manner or respect. Because of him the boy had some problems already but there was hardly a thing he could do to stop that.
The eyes of the former hitman were wandering around the quest board, trying to pick the one closest to his own interests. There were quite a few, some that sounded a bit difficult for now and some that seemed too easy to get anything valuable out of it. There was one about taking care of an old lady, which was ridiculous, and another one were they'd seek someone to guard crops. A wide variety. He saw another one which revolved around cleaning up the cove or something. Not bad, it was the same employer from the cargo mission.
But then he spotted one particular piece, something that made him curious. Some dude asked for help regarding an antidote. That was right up his alley! Anything poison related was his thing even if it was a cure of sorts. Another thing that caught his attention was that said substance was created by the spines of an Indigo-Grass Mouse. The description of said animal was similar to the one he already encountered in the Forest back then when he tried to find the Founatin of Healing.
"What? Mice? Where? Oh... no... boy, not again! We've already been there like... at least... a thousand times! Can't we just pick something more... close? Look, this old granny needs some help! I don't wanna walk that much again!" Nier popped out of the veil with a worried look. The sentences he said were only half true though. Yes, they have been in the forest a couple of times but it was not Nier who walked. He didn't even have any legs to begin with!
Nyx nodded, more to himself as to his companion, while turning around and leaving the guild. He was thinking if he needed some sort of weapon but came to the conclusion that it would be bad to kill them and then rip their spines off, as he still wanted to experiment on them later on. And who would eliminate possible guinea pigs before they were useful? He just hoped that he would find some of these mice he was quite intrigued by the idea of making and anti-serum out of their body parts.
Soon after this thought he arrived in the forest. Tall big trees were sprouding out of the fertile ground, offering animals not only a place to live but also food and nutritions. Everytime the boy took a step, the leaves under his shoes made a crackle noise. It was not easy to traverse the terrain with all the grass and branches laying around. He quinted, trying to focus on any movement in a small radius. Not only using his eyes but also his ears to potentially find one of these creatures.
Then, suddenly, he saw something! Rather fast and small, graciously jumping from one leaf to another, trying to avoid making any loud noises. Most of it's body was green, the same colour of the whole forest, which gave him the perfect ability to hide itself. The only thing that stood out was it's head, with the blue shiny spines. It stopped and Nyx used this opportunity to slowly walk towards it. As silent and profficient as possible he tried to close the gap.
The animal was sitting there seemingly catching a breath, still unaware of that was about to happen. The otherworlder was right behind it, leaned forward and hel both hands ready to get it. "GOTCHA!" The voice from Nier echoed throughout the forest, alerting all their inhabitants of their presence. The mouses ears stood up the moment it heared and started to flee. A bit perplexed about this idiotic way of revealing them Nyx tried to stop it from running. His fingers wrapping around the body of the small thing which tried to escape his clutches.
"Idiot." Nyx said to Nier who disappeared out of emberassement. He got it though and put it into his pouch, tightly sealed. Only a few little holes were in there to ensure that the beast would have enough air to survive. He'd take it back to the Adventurer's guild and pull out the spines there, it was easier and maybe he could keep the thing after that for his personal use. But the receptionist had the last say on this.
Back at the shack he threw the pouch on to the counter, pulled out a couple of the spines and handed them over before putting the critter back into the pouch. Nier tried to calm the waves he created by foolishly announcing his victory back then in the forest and asked the receptionist with a meek tone. "Erm...would...would it be possible to keep this... stupi... ehhh... this... cute... creature?!"

Summary: Nyx oberseved the Quest Board and found the Mission. He then proceeded by walking into the Local Forest in search for Indigo-Grass Mice. He found and caught one even though only barely as Nier almost scared it away. He got back to the Guild, delivered the promised items and asked if he could have the animal for himself.
