This is a plot proposal to give Myrtle Island a greater sense of purpose/urgency.
Ever since the Oracle disappeared, all kinds of things have been going wrong on Myrtle Island. The fish are smaller and less frequent. The crops randomly get sick and die. The island is sinking(?) and the beaches are flooded. A blight is coming across the land.
The merfolk are afraid they will need to leave and find a new home.
However, where can they go?

but how would we resolve it tho? It's not like Otherworlders could abandon the Reflecting Pool xD

but how would we resolve it tho? It's not like Otherworlders could abandon the Reflecting Pool xD I think one idea is simply to never resolve it, and use it as an ongoing "site plot" to motivate players to go look for other things. |

Might be interesting for some adventurers to think that the Reflecting Pool is one of the only links they have back to their old world, hence motivating them to leave and explore the world to find a way to stop/prevent this blight and protect their possible only way home.
