Many varieties of multicolored snails have been observed. Reports claim that the snails can be slightly enlarged — about the size of a baseball. (147)
Ecology and Behavior
It has been documented that hundreds of snails can appear after it rains on Myrtle Island. (147, 239) They are apparently not particularly aggressive, but they can secrete a slimy substance that burns when they are threatened. Snails can be stunned with blunt trauma. They also perish after having their shells removed from their bodies. (147)
